AC voltage regulators (AVR) are dry-type contact regulators composed of a regulating mechanism and a series transformer. By adjusting the contact position between the carbon brush and the polished surface of the cylindrical winding, the number of turns between the primary and secondary windings changes, allowing continuous and smooth voltage control over long periods of operation. Continuously adjustable contact voltage regulators are commonly used in laboratories, test benches, and industrial environments where precise voltage adjustment and stable output are required.

  • Each voltage regulator uses a servo motor control system to ensure steady, continuous voltage adjustment from 0 V to 430 V for single-phase models and up to 520 V or higher for three-phase units.
  • With an accuracy of ±1%, continuously adjustable contact voltage regulator keeps voltage stable even for highly sensitive equipment. Independent phase control allows them to handle unbalanced loads, which is ideal for laboratory systems, CT scanners, and other precision instruments.
  • Equipped with industrial-grade reliability, AC voltage regulators can handle short-term overloads up to twice their rated current for one minute, ideal for applications involving motor start-up or impact loads. These regulators operate stably in environments ranging from –5 °C to +40 °C.
  • They achieve over 96% efficiency thanks to a low-loss winding design that minimizes heat and the servo motor system maintains precise closed-loop control for stable, long-term operation.
  • Remote voltage feedback and RS485 communication interfaces allow integration into automation systems. Equipped with real-time voltage and current monitoring to simplify system management.
  • Features a dual carbon brush design that increases current-carrying capacity by more than 20% compared with conventional structures, improving overall efficiency and stability.
  • The AC voltage regulators' balanced winding and core structure help control waveform distortion to less than 2%, keeping the voltage steady and reliable even when there are varying loads.
  • Their enclosure can be customized according to user requirements and includes built-in zero-return protection, travel limit switches, and sequence controllers to prevent mechanical overrun and overvoltage damage.

The main difference between an AC voltage stabilizer and an AC voltage regulator lies in their purpose. Voltage stabilizers keep the output voltage fixed within a narrow range, even when the input voltage fluctuates. For example, if the input varies by ±10% around 220 V, the stabilizer can maintain a steady output of about 220 V ±2%, ideal for equipment that requires precise and stable voltage, such as CNC machines or medical devices. A voltage regulator, on the other hand, gives more flexibility. The output voltage can be set anywhere between 0 V and 380 V, either manually or automatically, which is useful for testing or calibration work that requires variable power such as in laboratories, testing setups, or equipment calibration areas.
